The course begins with an emphasis on Narrative and Descriptive Writing, which helps to expand students' vocabulary and add detail to their compositions. For more mature students, the course explores a wide variety of writing types, including persuasive, argumentative, report, reflective, and narrative writing.
The course focuses on the content of the task given to the students, teaching them to fulfill the task while considering the audience, purpose, and register. The students will be encouraged to discuss their ideas and develop their explanations in detail, promoting the development of their ideas. Overall, this course aims to help students become better writers by providing them with the necessary tools and techniques to create effective, engaging, and purposeful writing.
This professional course is focused on developing the grammatical abilities of students to enable them to convey their thoughts in a clear and organised manner. By the end of primary school, students are expected to be competent in various grammatical concepts such as present tenses, past tenses, future tense, active and passive voice, articles, comparative and superlative adjectives and adverbs, conditionals, infinitive/-ing form/participles, parts of speech, reported speech, plural nouns, prepositions, and question tags.
By the time students reach secondary school, they should be able to express their ideas clearly with minimal grammatical errors. The course will emphasise the content of the writing and ways to improve vocabulary usage and sentence structures. The goal is to prepare students for effective communication in writing and help them build their confidence in expressing their thoughts with clarity and precision.
Our Comprehension Class is designed to enhance the reading comprehension skills of students. This class is ideal for those who wish to develop their analytical and critical thinking, as well as their vocabulary skills when dealing with various types of texts such as fiction, non-fiction, and academic articles.
During the course, our highly experienced teachers will guide students through the process of analysing and interpreting written material. They will help students to identify key ideas, make inferences, and draw conclusions from the texts. Our teachers will provide students with ample opportunities to practice their comprehension skills and will offer feedback to help them improve further.
Upon completion of the course, students will have gained the confidence to approach any reading task with ease and will be equipped with a valuable set of skills that will prove invaluable in their academic and professional lives.
Our Diocesan Group Class is suitable for DBSPD and DGJS students who are in P.1 - P.6. The course covers Grammar, Literature and Comprehension with materials tailored for each year group.
The course will cover the topics that students will learn in the upcoming academic year, including characterisation, vocabulary, punctuation, tenses, articles, pronouns, and more.The maximum for our group classes is 5 students per class.

The K.2 Comprehensive Course is designed to prepare students for the K.3 level course. It covers language and literacy, social and emotional development, and the discovery of the world. Students will work on basic grammar and comprehension, build vocabulary, and write simple sentences based on different themes. This course requires a solid foundation in phonics.
The K.3 Writing and Grammar class aims to build a strong foundation in grammar, allowing students to structure grammatically correct sentences and express their ideas accurately in writing. The course covers topics such as the Present Simple/Continuous, plural nouns, pronouns, question words, prepositions, and possession adjectives. Students will learn how to structure a coherent plan for four-picture compositions before producing a full piece of simple writing. This course is suitable for students preparing for Primary 1 who wish to build a strong foundation.
The Private Classes provide students with tailored exam skills and resources, covering literature, comprehension, and grammar components. Experienced teachers, who have taught students from local and international schools in Hong Kong, prepare the materials. The class offers one session per week and allows students to work on questions in their school's test format. Additional sessions can be arranged closer to the exam. The course offers ample practice in grammar and literature components, ensuring that students take the exam with confidence.
